It comes with a certain amount of regret that I announce the retirement of True Homestruck Facts. This may come as shocking to some of you -especially for those who may have just started following recently-, but I feel the blog has run its course. With so little of our beloved webcomic left, and with all of the loose ends slowly coming together, it seems like there just isn’t as much to comment on anymore -and the things that I can comment on are ‘problematic’ at best-.
We’ve had some good times, I will admit. Remember that time we let loose 13 angry chinchillas who have since changed their username so now the joke makes no sense? How about April Fools 2013? Classic THSFs! What about that time HomestuckMakesMeCry came along to try to ruin our fun but ended up making themselves look dumb instead? What about that ol’ Cronus sexual assault debacle a single post below this one? Man, were people ever mad about that one! I regret that deeply. I offer my humblest apologies.
It was just nine months ago today that this blog was first conceived, and if I were trying to make a terrible birth metaphor, it wouldn’t work anyway because the blog is retiring, not starting up. God dammit.
The point is, we’ve had our fun, but I just don’t feel the blog can do any more than it already has. The fandom has -for the most part- smartened up over these months, and there’s just not as much to comment on anymore.
Under most circumstances, it would make the most sense to hold some kind of contest to give the blog away to some lucky Tumblr user who will then proceed to use it for completely the wrong purpose and totally screw everything up, but I’m a selfish bastard, so I’m keeping the URL, if only for prosperity’s sake. Like a monument to a fallen era, wherein fans were less intelligent, and weren’t trying to be dumb specifically to get onto my blog.
The most common suggestion for a post I received? “ROSE IS LORD ENGLISH”
In the end, I’d like to thank HomestucksonYouTube/dA for inspiring me to make this blog, and HomestuckMakesMeCry for inspiring me to make each fact as shitty as possible, out of spite. >KO)->
I find it fitting to end on a quote from Mr. Andrew Hussie himself,
“An 11K heap of large prints is actually so much paper, we’re not sure if we can keep it all in the same room, because it might actually cause the floor to collapse. True safety facts.” —Andrew Hussie, 4 months ago.
And with that almost THSFs reference, I bid y’all adieu,
—G0ATFAC3 (True Homestruck Facts)
